I just turned 19 and i received a first time dui charge a few days ago. i was comming back from geno's steaks in philadelphia when a state cop pulled me over on i95 for not using a turn signal when merging onto an off ramp( cop immediately followed me after i passed him going 55 which was the legal speed limit, his excuse was no one drives the speed limit at that night.) there was three people in the car ages 20 and 21 with myself at 19. only i was charged and taken to the hospital for blood work then fingerprinted. I was then sent on my way. the cops basically told me i was a good kid (attending college and playing a variety of sports) they said i was gonna get a slap on the wrist and probably just take highway safety classes/fines/probation. they said no one would find out and it would not effect my future. Iv been researching on my own and i now find that i can be placed in the highest level of intoxication just for some weed. the cops said i was driving fine and to think that id be placed in the same category as people drunk off their asses and can barely stand up is preposterous. i am wondering if i can trust the word from our friendly fellow law enforcement about me getting off on my first offense? will i be subject to the harshest penalties or will i get what i thought id be getting with no suspension of license, a fine, and highway safety classes?

How long does a dui conviction stay on your driving record in Tennessee?

and can a dui be expunged? 1st time offender state of tennessee
in regaurd to mr.kuhner_us ,actually i was not driving at the time.i was in a big truck at the time{in another state} officers thought i was going to leave, when in reality i was laid over for the week end ,i admitted to drinking beer with the other drivers and refused to take a breath test{implied consent law violation}same thing as as if one was driving.there fore im trying to fix it.and i didnt think you were rude ,i agree with you.ive been on the road for 23 years with not so much as a scratch on my record.but being a smart ass with law enforcement is unadvisable, especially in west virginia.

If you,ve been on trial for murder and found not guilty, but have a DUI conviction, can you be a cop?

Can a person work in the criminal justice field(corrections, parole, probation, attorney, or any law enforcement capacity) , if this disqualifies them from being a police officer. Does this still disqualify a person from being a police officer if this happen 15 years ago, why or
