Can someone advise how the insurance company will handle this? Incident occured in California. Brother 24, does not have a DL, this will be the 2nd time he is caught driving without one. To make matters worse he totalled parents car & may have been driving under the influence of alcohol. This happend last night and we are on our way to visit him at the hospital. We understand the DUI laws have become tougher and we understand he may have to serve some jail time plus fines if he's convicted of the DUI. My question is, will the insurance pay for the damages to the vehicle and or hospital bills. he doesnt have health insurance and was not listed as a driver in our parents policy (no DL). To my knowledge my parents did not let him borrow the car. My parents have full coverage and we are getting ready to call them to report the claim BUT can someone advice how they will handle this? we obviously want the insurance company to pay for the damages. any advice will be appreciated.

My mom and I bailed him out of jail last night (to the tune of 0) What happened was he didnt have a licence plate on the front of his car, so the cop pulled him over and asked to search his car, and in his guitar case he found a small baggie and a pipe. The officer also gave him a field sobriety test, but didnt tell my brother if he failed or passed. If he failed he would have gotten a DUI, right?
He was charged with a mistameanor for possesion of marijuana and a pipe. So what is going to happen to him now? Will he do jail time? Probation? Community Service?

FYI, I know drugs are illegal and he probably "deserved it" but he is still my brother and I love him and want to know what is going to happen to him, so spare me the "he shouldnt be doing drugs" lecture, I just want to know what is going to happen to my brother.

I'm looking at some jail time for DUI. I know I shouldn't have done but I was only slightly over the limit and I don't think it's right that I could end up in jail just for making a mistake. I could lose my job over this and I haven't really been in any trouble before and haven't hurt anybody like lots of people who go to jail. Why are the laws so strict about this now?

I was placed on probation after I got a Dui. In january I violated probation with a dirty urine with marijuana. Since than I have two clean urines and have been attending recovery classes which were already a part of my probation. I live in MD. What should I be looking for at my hearing tomorrow? Does this mean jail time?

I am on probation for one year for possession of marijuana. I only have 3 months left and i failed my urine test and then 2 days later i got arrested for dui what will my sentence be?
I am getting a lawyer with a lawyer will i still serve the same amt of jail time?

the first one was failure to complete cal-trans services and now just recently this month received a second warrant for my arrest and this is for failure to pay court fines for 3 months will i receive automatic jail time

In Ohio they have a law about giving yellow tags with red numbers for convicted drunk drivers and ALL family members. The Columbus (State capital) Mayor's wife 4 years got a serious DUI, caused much property damage and resisted arrest, was found guilty. Of course no jail time and admitted she had a problem and paid a fine. What I am getting at, is why every car in the mayors entourage didn't have to display those tags? Maybe not the Govt. cars, but at least his, he makes the rules. Whoops, I guess I just answered my own question.

I recieved a DUI a few weeks ago, still waiting for the court to send me a court date. I was driving drunk and high, the girl I was with had to take a piss... pulled into burger king.. she went behind the dumpster... I had pulled next to an undercover cop.. cop got out, long story short I took a sobriety test... stayed the night in jail.

Whats bound to happen to me.. the only thing I'm really concerned about is jail time. Based on the cirumstances, did the cop have the right to do what he did? How much for a first DUI... DUI with possession of marijuana. Should I get an attorney? Whats probation like... how can I pass these urine tests that they may make me take.

I'm 18 years old.

Also, it would be a lot of help if you could give me some additional information about stuff pertaining to this situation.

I got my DUI in 03/05. Finished all my courses and DUI fines. Last night- 3/31/07 I got pulled over for not having a red film over a broken plastic piece tailight signal. My brake lights were working fine, only my turn signal didn't have a film on it and it was showing clear cause of broken plastic. I am a third year college student in San Diego, CA. I am doing well and have been very sober and just drank a little for spring break got a .03 BAC. I got a fix it ticket and a ticket for violation probation- not a second DUI. what penalties can ie xpect? jail time? what can i do about it? anyway i can fight it because i got pulled over for the wrong reason. I really dont want to goto jail..any helpful input is appreciated. thanx.
the first time i got my license suspended for a year and 3 months dui classes and fines. I realize I can't fight the reason for being pulled over, but i am just trying not to goto jail. what if i start going to AA classes? Anything i can do on my court date to help me?
