I just got a dui that I am going through a diversion for. I don't know how Kansas laws regulate firearms purchases. I do know that you can't buy a gun if you have a felony, but I didn't know if that included DUI's.

Someone I know has gotten a DUI. Then he got another DUI plus under the influence of marijuana a few weeks later. He is only 19 years old. What do you think he will be charged? Felony? up to 1 year prison time?
In California, United States.

okay we cant afford a lawyer..but my boyfriend and i and a few friends went to a concert. we didnt drink but smoked a joint before the show that started at 2:20 and ended at 11:00...we got pulled over and the cop said he was drunk for making a last min tur (we dont know the streets in the city) we were heading home too. He got arrested for aggravated dui...will the marijuana show up. even though he wasnt high at the moment..will he get charged..we dont want this felony on the record. could the try to charge him for the marijuana instead of the alcohol? im worried...wut will happen..this is his first offence and he wasnt doing anything at the moment. we had a 5 hr drive home to look forward too and a baby to take...this was just a once in a lifetime event...so how can we fight this? they took his blood and urine but he wast intoxicated or high at the time of arrest..also the blood tests havent come back so his court is rescheduled until next month on the 5th...he was arreseted on the 23 of june...he is out on bond...were wondering how this works...it happened in arizona...the worse place to be caught for marijauna...were worried,,,the officer also didnt tell us why they pulled us over....was probably because we were leaving a concert. we didnt even get more than 4 blocks away for it. we had a 13 yr old in the ride whick maked it aggravated...this is not fair...and were wondering how to fight it because we dont want a felony for something he didnt do
i know it will show up...but like i said he wasnt driving under the influence of anything..it was hours bfore...like 14 before we got pulled over..no one stays high that long..hellooo!!!! so this isn't going to be fair...
no i meant to say the the officer did say he was drunk...but he diddt tell us why he pulled us over...but im thinking it was bcause of the last min turn ond out of state plates..but no reason was given..no traffic ticcet for a traffic violation

When I was 18 I got into a drinking and driving accident and was ticketed a dui. I think it was a felony because I blew a .15 or higher. Now I am 29 and wanted to get my Master's in teaching but I just read on the application "have a history free of convictions of criminal miseameanors and/or felonies" does this mean I cannot teach?

I received a dui for marijuana which is a misdemeanor, the city of gilbert is charging me for this. however, superior court in mesa is charging me for the actual marijuana that caused the dui that i had on me which is a class 6 felony. i guess i'm just confused as to why i'd have to submit to 2 court processes for the same incident, different charges but the same incident.

Driving drunk (no accidents or injuries) and evading arrest at the same time. Is this a misdemeanor or felony in Texas. What would you be charged with?
Folks, I'm just asking a question here. Don't assume it's me or anyone I know...I don't drink to begin with and would not even consider evasion!!!!!!!!!!! This is just a question....

I don't know if I'll have one by Friday, which is when I first go to court since my DUI.
What should I plead? Guilty, not guilty, or no contest?
This isn't a felony. It's the first DUI.

What is the process of applying or US citizenship after DUI conviction?
Right now I'm on my 2nd out of 3 years probation period. i had misdemeanor conviction..
As far as i understand i need to apply for Early DUI probation termination California Penal Code section 1203.2, subdivision (b).
But in addition to that: do i need to clear my criminal record?
if that is the case, then HOW do i clear my criminal record?
thanks for your help!
No it is not a felony.
it's a misdemeanor

I work with an Alcoholic who got a DUI in August of 2006. The cops released him on his own recognizance and his drivers license was automatically suspended. 2 weeks later , he gets another DUI and this time it was a Felony because of the suspended license, and the vehicle was seized (1997 Suburban). He decides to skip going to court and try to out run it. Someone told him after 7 years it will all go away. We worked in a construction crew and the boss finally fired him for being hungover all the time. I think if he went to jail it would help him sober up as well as keep the streets safer. So, if I turn him in, what will the penalty be for him?

I was recently arrested with my 1st DUI. I have no other arrests in my past and the DUI did not involve any accidents(thank goodness). Unfortunately, this came at a time that I am seeking new employment. I was recently hired for a great RN position but the large corporation rescinded the offer when the DUI showed up on my background check.Any advice or help would be much appreciated. I did not lie on my job application as it only asked if I have been arrested for a felony. I am a great nurse but can understand their concern. Also, the company didn't get the background check returned until after my fist day of orientation. Now they don't want to pay me for the day. Is that legal? Thanks.
