I was stopped for a DUI, but have not yet been convicted since the court process takes forever… Well I would like to buy a new car, and it looks like my insurance company will check my record at that time. I have just checked out my record myself, and it shows that I have had my license suspended for 6 month for DUI, but it does not say that I have been convicted of the DUI. I have reason to believe that the charges will be dropped.
Can they raise my rates or drop me at this point? Without a conviction?
law states if you get 2 in 7 years; etc- what date are they actually judging it by?Occurance or conviction date.
Will admissions be able to know about it? It’s not going to be a conviction.
State farm is canceling my auto insurance after a company called ChoicePoint inc. reported info. from the DMV about reinstatement of license, Chemical test modification and Chemical test revocation. I was arrested for a first offense and plea bargained to jump though all the hoops, pay all fines in order for it not to result in a conviction. Are there any insurance companies out there that do not purchase info. from ChoicePoint?
I have had a really tough month. I dont want to lose my career and my reputation. I don’t know legally what the implications of a DUI are on a DDS license… anyone?
But this time I am certain of a conviction.
96 hours in county jail and fined
If convicted of DUI in Nebraska, can you still legally drive while the case is under appeal? Also does the conviction and length of suspension carry over to the 49 other states? Can anyone direct me to website references? Thanks in advance.
My lawyer said that technically it is not a conviction. This was over 5 years ago, do I need to do anything with the courts to remove this from my record?
Does this automatically bar you from employment or not? I am already depressed about the whole situation but now I am considering changing majors if I wont even be able to get a job because of one dui conviction. I am fighting the case with the best lawyer i could find so hopefully they will plea and give me a reckless driving or something just to avoid the DUI on my record.. Hell i would go to jail and do tons of community service just not to have the dui on my record. The punishment sucks but the lasting effects are what ruin your life. Dont ever ever ever ever ever drink and drive at all. its not worth it. I did it a few times and got caught like an idiot. when its really late and no one is on the road the cops see every little thing you do. they will get you. dont risk the lives of others either. But just so you know.. if you get caught better have about 10 grand to pay all the lawyers and court costs etc.. plus huge increase in insurance.. plus depression sucks too…
do auto insurance companies look at the date of violation or the date of conviction becuase they usually don’t ask for violations that are over 5 yrs old. I am going to get my license back soon because of the conviction this year, but will auto ins cmpnys look at the 2000 violation or when i was actually convicted in 2007?
I recieved a DUI and am about to be found guilty. The issueing town did not report this to the military, but will the military someway find out after I am found guilty? I am also going to be Re-Enlisting the month after the conviction. Going through a re-enlistment process would they somehow find out about the dui?
I am a Sgt. They have not found out bc it was in a few counties from the base and they do not report those violations. So when i attend court it will be as if im a civilian only the cop and my lawyer know im military and assured it woudlnt get passed on. The chain of command does not know. I am wondering with re enlistment paper does it include some type of background check. I also already have a secret security clearance already.
ps i have been defending it in court for 5 months already. and final courtdate is soon. it may get lessened but im prepared for if it does not
