Got a DUI a few weeks back. I blew a .083 which is only .03 over the limit. However they were under the impression that I was using marijuana, I had not been that day. They gave me a drug test and I will probably fail because i did smoke like four days straight a few days before. I know if I fail I will not be eligible for a work permit to drive on but do you know any extra consequences I may be facing? Thanks!
Ok first answer I know for a fact just for a regular DUI here in the state of GA you lose your license for 4 months but thank you for answering. I am expecting it to be worse than that but hey if that is right I would be very happy!

I want to know what are the laws and consequences.

I am currently serving a 60 day sentence of house arrest for a DUI. I know that what I did was completely wrong and that I should pay for it. My bus ride to and from work is over 2 hours long, and since probation was not happy about this, I offered to take a taxi home from work everyday (they didn’t care about the morning, since chances are I would not be getting into trouble at 5:30 am!)

I realized today after taking the taxi for the first time that the fare was , and I therefore would be paying 00 to the taxi company when all is said and done! I don’t have that kind of money! In addition, the taxi company said that they can not guarantee that a taxi would be there for me at the exact time I need them- they only do that for flights and similar situations.

My question is…should I call probation and tell them the problem? I have a receipt from the taxi ride. Also, if I take the bus, I can guarantee that I will be home when I’m supposed to.

Again, I understand that I must suffer the consequences of my actions, but this will kill me financially. Is it worth me calling them or not?
There is no court order…but I had to do community service about a week ago. We were all let out an hour early, and the supervisor told us not to go home for at least an hour so that the bracelet would not register that we were home- resulting in him and everyone else getting in trouble. I ran to home depot and who did I see? One of the probation officers! Although we all waited to go home, I was the one who got caught, and therefore the trust factor has been largely diminished. Bottom line is, I will certainly not risk going to any other store or anywhere again, since I will loose everything if I do! But again, I also can’t afford to pay for a taxi everyday!

Okay so my brother in law is an idiot…

He has 3 DUI’S one he just recently got last week. the first two was for having alcohol in his system and this recent one was for failing a blood test for marijuana.

I AM COMPLETELY AGAINST ANYONE WHO HAS HAD A DUI AND HAS PUT OTHERS LIVES IN DANGER….

[its scary how much power another has on someone else's life. & they don't seem to care]

What will happen to him? what are the consequences? it seems to me like he has gotten off easy from the judge the first two times…

BY THE WAY he will make 21 in december!

I ask this because he is staying at my home and i dont want him there but my husband cant turn his back on his good for nothing brother. he is still smoking weed and his license were suspended and he is still driving around…

im not an evil B**** but i have children and if he cant change after his 3rd offense i dont want him near my kids or have those substances around my new home….
Basically i want to know what is his chances of going to prison….

thank you for all your advice… i seriously appreciate it and he needs to get out and i WILL CALL THE COPS to have him picked up the next time he leaves the home or he has any type of drug on him…i just dont want him here… so i will talk to my husband and our kids are definitely our first priority…=] thank you again…

I was reading this website – http://duicanadainfo.com/faq.php

They said I would be hit with all sorts of consequences. Do these look right to you?

I got my first, and last, DUI arrest last weekend and caused an accident. Nobody was hurt. I was just wondering if would of been better for me to leave the scene and deal with it the next day when I was sober? Would that have had lesser consequences? No I do NOT plan on doing this again. I just would like to know the answer.

The penalties or consequences. I need help im not sure of this answer can you please help me for my drivers ed?=]

The prosecutor is addding the Habitual Substance abuser enhancement because I have had 2 other DUI convictions. We tried to plead but she insists on 1 yr for the DUI and 5 yrs for the enhancement and that is non suspendable! I live in Illinois now and am considering not going to court. Any Advice??
I will lose my livelihood if I go back. What if I get myself in a position to go back sometime in the futur and face my consequences? Are any of you lawyers or have had experience with this? Thanks
Does anyone know what the odds of them filing an extradition warrant is?

I was pulled over a couple weeks ago at a dui checkpoint in Orange County and took the blood test and got the results that were .08 BAC. I am not proud of this, and am willing to pay the consequences for my actions. I am wondering what that is going to entail. Here is the thing with my case. I am moving to New York on August 1st. My job is transferring me to our firm out in the city and its already all in the pipeline. My court date is august 10th, so I think I am just going to move my start date back because I don’t know if I can go to court earlier. I called a lawyer’s office and they charge 4000 to fight the case, so I think I am just going to go in there alone. I need info on probation, costs, classes, etc. Especially in regards to how that works since I’m moving (I currently live in Cali). Thanks so much in advance for any advice. I really appreciate. Please don’t preach to me, I already feel bad.

I’m a teen who recently moved to the state of CT. I live in a somewhat affluent town, and here, the idea seems to be that if you don’t get caught with drugs, you’re fine. But I’m curious because it affects so many of my new friends who go driving while "under the influence"…what are the penalties for getting caught and receiving an under-age DUI (driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol) in this state? What if you are also caught high or drunk in a car, but you were not the one driving it? Do you receive the same consequences as the person who was?
