What can i sue for in a DUI accident?

Me, my fiance and my 1 year old daughter were in a car accident just 3 days ago. We were hit by a drunk driver who swerved into our lane. Our car is damaged (not sure how much to damage is going to cost). Thankfully, since we were all wearing our seatbelts, no one was seriously injured. Just scratches & bruises and now aches. I did not have insurance on my vehicle but the other driver had insurance (as so the cops said she told them, we did not get our police report yet). We also went to the hospital after the accident to get checked up on to make sure we had no broken bones. We also do not have any health insurance. I was just wondering, should we sue the drunk driver? and if so, what can we sue for. For the mere fact that she could've killed me and my family, I want this women to pay. I live in Milwaukee, WI. Who are some good lawyers i can be appointed to? What will it cost?
FYI "mark c" i do not mean "make her pay" as in $$, i meant have her prosecuted to the extent of her actions.

do states other then Minnesota require Whiskey Plates after a DUI?

My roommate just got a DUI last night and I had to experience the chilling 3am phone call.... anyway, she's ok and they let me pick her up from the Police Station instead of making her spend the night in jail. The thing is, when she was 17 or 18 she got a wet & reckless (She's 22 now), she can't remember if she was a minor or not when she got it. I'm thinking if she was 17 when it happened it would be wiped off her record & this will be her first & only offense, but if its still on her record, does anyone know the consequences she will face? Will this count as her 2nd DUI? Any jail time? She's never been in trouble with the law before besides those 2 times. ...... Please no rude comments, I am merely trying to get some more information for her until her court date next month. Thanks guys!

My roommate who’s 22 just got a DUI last night and has her court date set for next month. She didn’t get into an accident or blow extremely high..I believe her BAC was .14. She actually was just drinking some wine at the house & decided to make a bad decision and drive to the Del Taco across the street. When she was 17 or 18 she got a Wet & Reckless, however that is the only other time she’s had a run in with the law. Does anyone know how her Wet & Reckless will affect her case? Will it even show up?

Transfering car title for cheaper insurance due to DUI?

I got a DUI last year. It is not over 0 a month for insurance. What consequences could happen if I transfered the title over to my boyfriends name, & he registered & got the insurance in his name. What would happen if i got pulled over while driving the car.. ? etc... thanks.

Her mother Kathy Hilton shouted out today in court that they were wasting taxpayers money on enforcing the law on her precious daughter. You & I would get 90 days in jail for driving on an unsuspended drivers license, she got only 45 days. Performing the DUI punishment is below her. She did not go to DUI school or do community service as prescribed by law.

Do you agree with supporters of illegals that drinking & driving & having accidents is really no big deal even though the illegal have no license or insurance.Supporters point out Americans have caught doing this and so they defend the illegals and blame Americans for having DUI laws in the first place ?Like in Mexico drinking and driving you pay a bribe off you go and it's all good and in Mexico this is considered to be a very minor crime.The same as jaywalking

Is a ( ARMY) waiver needed for arrests or convictions only? My brother was arrested for marijuana & DUI in 1999. He never went to court and was never charged but was arrested. He went to DUI school to remove points off his driver's license in 1999. Will Army require a waiver even though he was never convicted? This arrest doesn't show up on the state criminal background check. Will it show up on a FBI background check? Does the ARMY disqualify for arrests or convictions?Thank You

Will the insurance company cover damages caused with a second dui?

An idiot friend of mine just got into an accident on the freeway, caused road damage, totaled his car, and got his second dui. No other cars were involved. But his cousin was the passenger and sustained minor injuries during the crash. The driver has full coverage on the policy but this is his second dui in california. Will the insurance company cover damages to the road and hospital bills incurred by his cousin? ambulance, pain &suffering etc.. or are they shit out of luck because they were both under the influence? Could his cousin sue the insurance company? All answers are helpful, thanks for your time.
