I had a DUI exactly 3 years ago and I am moving to NM. I don’t want to have to get an interlock again. I had on when I got my DUI. I feel like its double jeopardy. Is there a time frame I can wait before moving so that I don’t have to get an interlock?
I stopped smoking marijuana almost 4 years ago, am currently financially over extended with 2 collections, and a bad driving record. I currently have failure to appears and unpaid tickets. DUI almost 3 years ago under age of 21(blew .03) and was not arrested, 2 driving on suspended and served 5 in county jail first time and 3 the second and currently on probation(no PO, informal I think).
My friend had minor theft charge at the mall when she was 15 and now a college is strict on her acceptance. I hope my DUI 3 years ago does not keep me from succeeding.
I called and an agent who said i had to wait a year and a half to be eligable – 3 years after i crashed my car and got the ticket.
I’m on my parents insurance as a secondary driver. can i claim to be a secondary driver with my own motorcycle?
maybe have it registered in my dads name?
i just got my motorcycle license from a safe driving course and have my driver license
thanks in advance
it happened when i was a minor so i thought maybe the clerk or judge messed up. could i go back and take it off my record?
my record was to be cleared
I am having a horrible problem here in the county I reside in…I live in Richland County in Illinois and was recently arrested for a DUI here. To explain, I am 50 years old…I don’t drink much at all and don’t do any hard drugs. I am however, a smoker of marijuana and have been since the 70"s. I am a responsible driver and have a flawless driving record until I move here.
I had about 2 1/2 years ago, been stopped at a local road check just after I had some friends in the car and the smell of marijuana was still in the car. I received a DUI for that since my urine test came up dirty and was placed on 2 years supervision. I represented my self and during the proceedings I admited to the State’s Attorney and the Judge I do smoke marijuana occasionally. Now 6 days before my supervision was over, a Richland County Sheriff stopped me on our main street since I am sure he seen my car parked at a local bar. He informed me he smelt alcohol and asked if I was drinking. I told him yes I had 3 beers…which I did. He had me do those wonderful sobriety tests and then said I was being arrested even though I am sure I passed those tests..and that he needed to perform additional tests at the station. He asked if I would take a breathalizer which I aggreed to do so. I passed at a 0.04. He then asked if I would take a urine test…now they know I do smoke occaisionally and know if I had smoked even 10 days ago I would come up dirty on the test. I didn’t refuse but asked to speak to a attorney before I took the test to see if there was any thing I can do to protect myself..he then said I refused which I told him I am not refuing I just want to talk to a attorney first….This went on for about 7 times before he told me to go with another deputy. He then entered the room where I was and said my license would be suspended for 3 years for refusing to take the test and I told him I didn’t know that…he said he read it to me but when he was reading me something he read so fast I didn’t even hear him say that…I then told him I would take the test even though it wasa catch 22…he said it was too late.
The reason he pulled me over to begin with was for no license plate lights…one of them was blown but the other worked and was at the time of the stop.
What, if anything, can I do to help myself in this fiasco?
By the way since a smart ass wanted to inform me I was under the influence..I wasn’t..I passed the breathalizer and hadn’t smoke any marijuana for 8 days…I would call tah not under the influence of anything but under the influence of over-bearing and to say it nicely ass..le cops!
I have a DUI on my military record and i admited to using marijuana before i joined the army, i have been in almost 3 years now. And the DUI i got off real easy with only a company grade, and a letter of reprimand. Just wondering if i should even put the effort into finnishing my Warrant Officer packet or not…….
my husband got a dui about 3 years ago! it took forever to actually get a court hearing.. and he didn’t even loose his lisence till a year ago, now that hes about to get it back, i’m wondering how much extra the insurance will be now… It was his first offense, lowest reading on the breathalizer.. and we live in pa, if that matters…
So I have had a rocky past. I had a possession of marijuana charge when I was 16. I was into a lot of drugs when I was younger, but thats the only offense and it may have been dropped. I had an underage DUI when I was 19 and that was dismissed also, but shows up as being dismissed on my record still. I also had a misdeameanor petty theft when I was 19 and I had that expunged off my record about 3 years ago. For the last 6 years I have stayed out of trouble and been taking pre-med and nursing classes carrying a high GPA.. I really want to attend the police academy, but all the talk of polygraph tests and the fact that its already challenging to get a job scares me. Although my record is clean now (had it checked through FBI fingerprint)…I’m afraid I may be looked down upon when it comes time to get a job. What do you all think?
When an insurance company wants to know if you’ve had any DUI’s in the last 10 years, can they really find that out or are they just hoping you’re stupid enough to tell them? Because I live in Pennsylvania and am pretty sure it comes off your driving record after 3 years, but if you have a second offense after 10 years, it is treated as a first offense. Is this correct?
And the DUI was in New Jersey and was a first offense, so I wasn’t penalized for it in Pennsylvania, I just couldn’t drive in Jersey for 7 months. So I believe it is on my Jersey record but not my PA record. Can the Insurance company find out?
And when I say its not on my PA record, I mean that they know about and if it happened again, they would act accordingly, but Its not considered a DUI because I didn’t get a jury trial in Jersey as is my right in Pennsylvania.
What is the cheapest car insurance out there to get for someone who has a DUI and a speeding ticket within the last 3 years?
I live in California
