I recieved two DUI's in 1999 four days apart. (no criticism please, I've had enough). Due to changes in my house hold, I now need to find my own insurance (yes, divorce) . I recently purchased a policy through Geico, but I've since been informed that they can't continue my policy past Dec. 1st since they've run my entire driving record. Is there an company out there that will accept a driver with a perfect record for 81/2 years without filing an SR22?

The court may convict you of DUI in addition to the penalties imposed under the non-criminal "zero tolerance" law that makes it illegal for a person under 21 to drive with a BAC of ________. (This level is equal to one drink within a four hour time span in the BAC Charts)

I mean it can be a potential crime. I had a dui right by my home, like 2 blocks and got cited. I blew slightly above the .08. Now, I got into trouble with my employer which I have been with for 10 years, and it does not involve driving. I have applied for part time jobs and some of them will not hire me and once again they are non-driving jobs. I have paid my debt in the pocket and in time. I am not a bad person, but its embarrassing and I like to add, i have been pulled over before on suspicion of dui and after breezing thru the dui check the office looked defeated. its as if its a HUGE revenue generator. I have to put food on the table and take care of my kids. But the dui laws almost made me lose my job, home,/ I am now bankrupt because of this and prior i had good credit. I am contributing member of society but its like my paid debt is not ok with people. I mean, I feel like i am being treated as harshly as a bank robber.

I live in New Jersey and was arrested in Minnesota on the DUI changes. For my court date I flew to Minnesota and finished up with my court , paid fines, etc. My lawyer said no more criminal charges. But, what are the effects of this DUI on my NJ lic? I mean I know that insurance will go up. But, will NJ DMV suspend my lic and charge me the state fee too (3000 over 3 years)

In America we are concerned with protecting ourselves from Crimes and acts that can lead up to them. For instance we have laws that register every sex offender in America to keep our kids safe. However, if you look at National Statitics over 16,694 people were killed in alcohol-related crashes - an average of one almost every half-hour. Many of these being children. So I think that if we are going to protect our children from one class of people, then we should also look at Drunk Drivers who tend to kill a lot more.

I was arrested for a weed dui and spent the night in jail recently. I was told to call the court with a docket number every week to check up on the status of my case. When I called the other day, I was told that I was not charged as of last week and was done with the court and do not have to call back any more. Does that mean I get to keep my driver's license? What happens to my driver's record? Insurance?

If my license was suspended for a DUI, but I drive anyway, is my insurance void? What if I have not missed an insurance payment yet?
What if my license is restricted and I drive for reasons other than to work and DUI class?

I just got a dui. They have made new laws and I'm not sure what they are or how to find out. Is it worth hiring an attorney or a waste of money? I blew a .14 in Sacramento ca. It's my first offense and I'm 22.

I am looking into getting car insurance but unfortunately I made a very poor choice last year and got a DUI. I am trying to figure out what company would be the least expensive to go with. Also I am a 26 year old college student if that helps. Thanks for any help.
