How do I go about getting a Texas license with a misdemeanor DUI in another state?

The situation is this:
I received a Minor DUI in WA state which is defined as:
- Driver under 21 with BAC over .02 and under .08 (which is classified as a misdemeanor)
I've moved to Texas since that mistake and am looking to get a Texas license.. The incident incurred a 90-day license suspension period in WA, which is already up. How does this play out?
Will I be eligible here in Texas?
Do I need to have an SR-22? My insurance company hasn't yet gotten wind of the infraction so I'm still insured normally, will the Texas DPS notify my insurance company?
If it were possible I'd like to just apply as a brand new applicant, like I've never had a license, but looking over the application where they ask if you've had a license in another state, short of lying (which is a felony i think), it doesn't seem that will be possible. I assume that they run checks on your name or social security number in other states?
What other things should I know and/or consider?
Thanks in advance for any and all help and information.
You’ll have to get your license situation straightened out in Washington first. The only information Texas will get is that your license is still under suspension, so they won’t do anything.
Contact the Washington DMV, and get yourself OK with them first.
Your DUI’s cross the informational street of State lines. Sorry, you are out of luck.
They will still be able to get your records from WA and most likely will not let you have your license until your 90 days are up
Just because one state recognizes you as a bad driver doesn’t mean another state will ignore that
Same rules apply across state boundaries. The more important question is have you sworn to never drink and drive again and put others lives at risk with another selfish move?
