I am going to turn myself in today for 3 misdemeanor charges for possession of marijuana and a DUI in which the DMV issued an order of reinstatement for my license. I want to know if anyone knows what I should be expecting thanks!
You DUI happened over 90 days ago, right. That is why you licence can be reinstate if you get off on the drinking and driving (you wont).
The drug possession charge can be dropped with a donation to where ever the drug prosecutor wants. Use one of the duty counsels to talk with the prosecutor (they are free)
You DUI is a different story. Min charge is 1 year driving probation, $1500.00 fine. You must also complete a back on track program ($700) if you lived in Ontario. When you get your licence back you will be required to get an ignition interlock ($1000 to install and around $100 a month to maintain.
This is for Ontario.
get an attorney to help you with your excuse on failure to appear (FTA) and see if some charges can get reduced or dismissed. Maximum : 3mo. + community service. good luck
