not sure of idahos laws but here is 1 year loss of license, fine up to $1000, community service (about 50 hours) , DUI school. 16 (2 hour classes) reinstatement fee $500, and /or possible jail time 7-14 days, PLUS….jacked up insurance costs if you can even find an insurance company who will insure you. In other words this will take time and money to resolve. And may become a burden for the rest of your life because in some states they no longer allow this charge to be expunged…ever!!!! Tell your friend he will get through it just be patient, and do not let it happen agian cause it only gets worse the next time around..This is in my state look at the link i have provided for your local punishments .Good luck!!
I got 48 hours with 2 weeks of picking up liter along the highway,one year of probation,loss of license or you may get a restricted license. And you have to get addition insurance and pay fines to the court of up to 1500. Not sure about the weed
