You will be asked to turn your license in when you go to court.
For a first offense in California your driver’s license will most likely be suspended for 1 year, (because you under 21.)
A first offense also includes, mandatory 48/hrs in jail, (you may get lucky, this may be suspended due to over crowding.)
Also, $390-$1000 fine.
3 years probation, mandatory drug/alcohol education/classes, (these include more monetary fees and/or community service.)
Even a first offense in California is a very expensive lesson to learn, your insurance rates will also be sky high for a few years once your license is reinstated.

You are looking at a 1 year license suspension. I would get a lawyer without hesitation. Whether or not they confiscate your Driver’s license is not important at this point.
A lawyer can always help you, but probably not guarantee a certain outcome.
