Congratulations, Colten, you managed to violate the DUI laws in one of the states that take such violations seriously.

You will: spend 48 hours in jail or get 100 hours of community service. You will have to complete an Alcohol and Drug Safety course or treatment program, AT YOUR EXPENSE. You will be fined between $500 and $1,000, plus court costs, probation fees and evaluation fees. Your license will be suspended for 30 days and will be restricted for a year after that. If they want to be really mean to you, the law authorized them to impound your vehicle for a YEAR.

Check http://www.ksdot.org Type in DUI to search for the entire law. Subsequent DUI offenses can get real interesting.

Either stop drinking and driving or find some softer state to move to.

You go to jail for a short or long time.

hopefully jail – will probably only get your license suspended – stay off the road until you grow up

Join the military ASAP. They will fix your legal problems. Short of that you’re going to jail and might I say rightly so.

a couple of thousand in fines/lawyers fees. might not have a license for awhile. might be a jail for a few days. probably not. depends on your lawyer and how good a mood your judge is in. most of them are old and seem to have difficult home lives. lol. i got a 50 fine for using my bright headlights on a dark road / forest preserve area. i’m still so angry at that judge for that !

You will probably be fined around $1000 or so, perhaps be put in jail for a while, and get your license suspended until you’re 21.

This is assuming no one was hurt. If anyone was hurt, it will be MUCH worse.

Get a lawyer. If you cant afford one ask for one (call the local court house or police station and ask to be put in contact with a public defender).
You need to tell your lawyer everything that happened. Tell your lawyer that the cop did not ask to search your car and did anyway.
The cop does not have to ask to search your car if he/she saw drugs or a drug pipe in plain view (sitting on the seat, etc). Or if they had another reason to suspect you had drugs.
Tell the lawyer everything. If you get a good lawyer and the police had no reason or right to search then it may get thrown out of court completely.
And stop using drugs and you wont ever have this problem again. Colleges will reject students with a criminal history.
