There's been some talk about legalizing pot to bring tax money into the system. I don't know if it would happen or not, but it got me wondering about something. Alcohol metabolizes out of the system in a matter of hours, so a test can be done to show impairment. Pot can stay in your system for weeks, although one wouldn't be impaired beyond a matter of hours. Someone who recently smoked shouldn't be driving, but someone who smoked the day before would be OK. How would law enforcement make the determination?

I’m sure they could come up with some way of testing. I think they can tell you are impaired by looking at your eyes with a lite. If they are jerky when you move them side to side, you are stoned. Plus breath tests might be able to determine how stoned you are.
Weighed against drinking, smoking is no where near as bad.

No their not. Marijuana is classified as a Class A drug ranked with Heroin and there is always some nuts with law degrees who figure they have the authority to write these dumb articles.

There is a sobriety test for marijuana, just as there is a sobriety test for alcohol. First off your pupils will be huge which is a tell tale sign you are high. Your tongue will also have a green film from the marijuana. Their eyes will shake when a finger is slowly moving across your face; which is also used for alcohol field sobriety tests. There are many ways to tell if you are high. You’re much better off not smoking marijuana at all and doing something productive anyway
