How would you vote on a referendum that decriminalizes marijuana and why?

I would vote YES and campaign as heavily as I could. Here's my reasoning. There are drugs out there whose side effects can include psychotic behavior or other dangerous behavior as far as the public is concerned. Marijuana is NOT such a drug. It may, like alcohol, cause some APPROXIMATE danger, if say, someone very high took the wheel, but this is not a proximate cause. An informed adult should have the right NOT to be considered criminal if she or he uses this drug responsibly. There is also NO onus to prove that the drug is harmless. I do not claim that it is, but it is certainly not as damaging to society as alcohol. I am aware that some fools out there are convicted of DUIs in the double digits. Why are we so freaking lenient THERE!!??!! Why are there NO mandatory minimums for the SECOND DUI? The criminalization of many drugs was born out of historical prejudice, and the continued criminal status of marijuana is maintained to some degree for the same reason. Seriously folks, when are we gonna grow up here?
I would even suggest a compromise for the meanwhile. Let's say if you insist on maintaining possession/use as a criminal offense, what say you to making it a class c misdemeanor you would get ticketed for, but never arrested for?
I Love you, two things. First, NOBODY has EVER died of a marijuana overdose. EVER. Second, you would also then have to support criminalizing any addictive substance or behavior.
I must also point out, obviously, that there would be an age restriction. I DO NOT support letting kids use it legally.

It makes no logical sense to me that a drug that isn’t nearly as dangerous as alcohol is illegal.

I have had trouble with drinking my whole life. I have been arrested, hurt, and ruined relationships because of drinking, and yet, in 5 minutes all my sobriety could be out the window and I could be enjoying a perfectly legal beer at a local bar.

I have never had a problem with smoking a little weed now and then. It happens a few times per year when I run into old friends from college and stuff like that.

I get a pleasant buzz, I enjoy it, and I never crave it again.

    But…

The entire activity is criminal and I could get thrown in jail for it.

It makes no sense at all to me.

I vote yes to legalized marijuana.

I would vote no, and my reasoning is, kids and people will be missing the most important parts of there life because of this. My cousin missed everything, he missed christmas which is an very important part for our family, it when everyone comes together, he missed that cuz he was off getting high, he missed out when his little cousin was brought to my aunts house, he was out getting high, 2 months ago we got a call, he died.

Doctors say it was a drug over dose.

So thats why i would vote no.
