Someone I know said they got pulled over and got a DUI. He is 17, had almost an ounce of marijuana in the car and he was high and had 2 other people in the car. I said this is bullshit and to show me the ticket and he said there is no ticket. He would have a ticket right? Or something to show me to prove it really happened?
Don’t know why you think he would lie about being a giant jackass or why he should prove it to you, but he probably has some paperwork about it.
When you get arrested, there is usually no ticket. Instead, you get other paperwork when you are released from jail that tells you what your court date will be.
He was arrested and will likely be charged with a felony. They don’t issue "tickets" for felony arrests.
I think when one is arrested, police don’t bother to ticket you since it pales in comparison to the charges that will be leveled against him. I would ask him when is his ‘court date’.
A ticket is a citation, a means of charging a minor traffic offense. For more serious offenses, one goes to jail. Eventually, bail is set and the court schedules an arraingment. At that arraignment, the prosecutor will file a criminal complaint. There is no citation for more serious offenses like DUI.
you are sometimes written a citation after you are arrested and when you pay the ticket you are released pending your court date unless you have a more serious charge in conjunction with your dui.
