Can two different courts charge you from the same arrest?

I received a dui for marijuana which is a misdemeanor, the city of gilbert is charging me for this. however, superior court in mesa is charging me for the actual marijuana that caused the dui that i had on me which is a class 6 felony. i guess i'm just confused as to why i'd have to submit to 2 court processes for the same incident, different charges but the same incident.
The misdemeanor charge can be handled in a city court, the felony charge is a federal charge and has to be handle in a federal court. The felony charge is alot more serious, good luck.
Gilbert is getting you on the DUI. Mesa for possession. That’s two separate crimes.
The DUI is being handled by the city Court, the felony possession is a superior court thing. It isn’t uncommon to be charged with multiple offenses coming out of one arrest.
If someone had possession of an illegal weapon, was shooting it outside, while running from the police, all the time he was naked, and ended up shooting someone. The police would charge him with: Disorderly Conduct, Weapon Charges, Indecent Exposure, and Aggravated Assault. 1 incident, but multiple offenses.
