If your serious about it. Yes you can. You have a few marks against you so first you would have to correct them. You could enlist in the military, keep your nose clean and work on getting your record expunged. If you develop a track record of a disciplined person you can probably convince a Chief that you were a wild kid and now you are a trustworthy candidate.
That would depend on the police department and the civil service rules where you apply. Talk with a representative of the police department that you want to join.
I suspect that your charges will stop you from being in any type of law enforcement. You "might" be able to get a job as a correctional officer in a state prison although I doubt that also.
Probably nil. Departments are cutting back in a big way now, so they can afford to be choosy.
Also, if you do something boneheaded, like arresting Denzel Washington as the actor is trying to get into his own car, expect your criminal record to make it to the news. The departments would prefer to avoid having to answer for things like that.
"I know it is my past…."
Umm, based on what little you’ve admitted to, these are not isolated errors. Rather than your past, they are strong descriptions of who you are now.
"I decide to get a degree in criminal justice…."
….you’ll be no closer to getting a LE job than a large number of criminals, many behind bars. Sorry, but there’s more to your fitness for law enforcement than your having earned a degree.
Why would you want to be a cop? You know how it feels to get in trouble for just a simple gram or so of green, and you know it’s harmless. Yet you want to lock up innocent smokers? hope this helps
