Like if i signed up for car insurance and just said no i never got a dui they would not know right because it got expunged?
Insurance companies have their own, independent database of your driving information. They actively search the criminal and traffic courts accross the country for your information. This is how they find out about your ticket and of course, your DUI. You name will be destroyed in every record of the incident except for the police blotter, which no checks and which everyone has difficulty convincing the police department to let them inspect. New searches will yield nothing. If your insurance company shares their information with other companies, they will know. If they do not, then they will never know. Your DUI will not be in your "driving history" section as a conviction, but it might be in an unreported code or calculation with the company. If they do fault you for your DUI, you will never know. Your rate should be the best indication. It won’t affect you forever. At some point, it will not be a factor in assessing your risk as a driver.
Odds are they will. They are not stupid and keep track of these things on their own.
the way that my attorney explained expunging to me is that it will always be there it just depends on the person or agency that is looking for it and how hard they are trying
