The 5-year-old boy reportedly was taken to a hospital in serious condition, but he has since improved, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
Darbin Alejoz-Ramirez, 23, was arrested on complaints of driving under the influence and causing an injury collision, driving with no driver's license, having no proof of insurance and injury to a minor child. He told police that he is an illegal immigrant, so a hold for Immigration and Customs Enforcement was placed on him at the Tulsa Jail.
Police said the child rode his bicycle from between two parked cars into the path of Alejoz-Ramirez's Chevrolet Blazer about 3 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Park Apartments in the 7600 block of East 21st Street.
Alejoz-Ramirez smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and failed portions of sobriety tests, an arrest report states. He agreed to a blood test and was taken to a hospital to have blood drawn.

If you draw some conclusion about all illegal aliens because one injured a kid while drunk, what conclusions do you draw about all citizens when a citizen does the same? Since the vast majority of criminals and drunk drivers are citizens, you must hate all american citizens.

When they took away license from illegals they also took away the insurance as they can not have insurance without a license. But these people will still move around in order to make a living.
I said this would happen. What we should do is incorporate them into our society and if you want build a wall around the entire country but those that are already here must be made part of our society. Failure to do so will only cause US harm.

just because they are pro illegal doesnt mean that we support the ignorant ones that kill and hurt people(do drung, get dui’s) if that guy hit my little boy…. he’d be really sorry and hope that they would deport his @$$. illegals can have insurance…..legally…. my father in law has car insurance and they know that he doesnt have a license, it just makes his payments higher
I think both illegal aliens and drunk driving are horrible problems to this country. But one problem has little to do with the other. I have no objections to the country doing whatever it can to stop both problems.
That is really terrible, there’s no excuse for it, and I feel very sorry for the kid’s family.

He didn’t do it because he was illegal of because he was Mexican. He was under the influence and that was the cause of it.

poor kid… It doesn’t look like the border problem will ever be fixed because now candidates like Giuliani, Obama and Clinton are rewarding them for coming here illegaly by giving them social security and full amnesty… Just come here LLegaly and then follow are laws, I don’t understand the way this country works anymore.. some kid gets tasered for not showing an id then gets arrested… but illegals come across the border, take our jobs away and then they reward them with full amnesty?? wtf kind of system is this? What do I think? I think it is terrible that a child was hurt, but am happy he’s going to be okay. As far as Mr. Ramirez, well he will no doubt be deported and have warrants issued for his arrest for not appearing in court when he was scheduled to show up, because he’s in Mexico. Whether he is illegal or not, he was reckless in getting behind the wheel of a vehicle while intoxicated. But, I ask my self, where was the child’s mother? Who was watching this child? Did she not see her son could go out into the street? Now, why wasn’t she arrested for negligence?
Look at all sides of a story – Mexican, American, French, Italian, whatever – it could have been anybody. Why didn’t the story read on a positive note instead. "Child fine after being hit by car!"

Just exactly what are you trying to say? My fiance was killed by an American citizen driving drunk, speeding, ran a red light and ran over her as she was crossing the street. He never even slowed down and it all happened right in front of me. My nephew spent two weeks in intensive care because a drunk (American citizen) drove the wrong way on a one way street and hit the car he was in head on, two other kids, 17 and 19, were killed. DUI is a problem that has nothing to do with race or nationality.
I think that anybooy that drives under the influence is an idiot and consequences should follow!!! I dont care if he is Mexican (like I am), white, black, asian, green or purple!!!!
Why dont you post all these other news that make headlines about whites robbin stores, driving drunk, murdering people or any other LEGAL person??? Does it make it ok for them to do it because they are LEGAL citizens??

That’s the second child injured by a drunken illegal alien in Oklahoma that I’ve heard of this summer. The child in OKC sustained more serious injuries.
Deport the illegals, then we will only have to deal with the criminal citizens. DOJ statistics per capita show illegal aliens crime rates are substantially higher than those of citizens.
Deport this one before he harms someone else.
