An sr22 filing in the state of California is 7 years, I have heard that they are trying to raise it to 10 years now-basically an sr22 is proof of insurance for the dmv if you carry insurance now they can just add the sr22 to your current policy, if not there are companies that specialize in finding sr22 filings for you
