If you have a DUI in a year ago in one state and move to another can they make you require SR22 insurance?

I already have it insured and have completed all of my requirements in the state I got it in with no problems, and quit drinking :) ...

A state could require everyone to file an SR22 insurance form. The only reason why they don’t is that it would be too cumbersome for most people.

Because the constitution requires states to give full faith and credit to the judgments of other states, there is nothing unconstitutional about treating a DWI case from another state the same as you treat DWIs from your own state. The only thing that would be constitutionally problematic would be if they treated out-of-state convictions more severely than in-state convictions.

you would need to keep the filing in place in the original state with your current insurance policy issuing a filing for the state with the original sr22 fling
