    No, the cosigner has no other issues with it except the payments.

    They will get a letter stating that their car has been impounded. Then they can check to see why the car was impounded. I was co signer to a car for my brother and I got a letter stating my car was impounded. When I checked why it was impounded, I found out it was because my brother got a DUI.

    If the other person is listed on the registration for the car, they will be notified. The title holder may be notified as well. This is to ensure that no claims come back against the police if the car is not recovered after 30 days and sold/disposed of.

    are you sure they’re listed on the *registration* to the vehicle? – or are you perhaps referring to the TITLE to the vehicle?

    in any event, if another person is listed on a vehicle *registration*, they COULD possibly inform the other registrant – but it’s not likely.
