If the court doesn't give a DUI conviction but DMV keeps my suspension, should it affect my auto insurance?
This happened 4 years ago 10/2008. I was pulled over by campus police for going over a bridge that everyone goes on. I had one beer, but blew a small amount. DMV suspended my license for 1 year. On my court date, the judge said the officer did not file a complaint so they dropped my case. There...
This happened 4 years ago 10/2008. I was pulled over by campus police for going over a bridge that everyone goes on. I had one beer, but blew a small amount. DMV suspended my license for 1 year. On my court date, the judge said the officer did not file a complaint so they dropped my case. Therefore, I was not convicted.
I pay 0 for 6 months for auto insurance. What can I do to lower my rate?
I was 20 and blew .02, that's a beer an hour later and mouth wash. Is 0/6 months a lot?
Yep, I am 23 now and paying 2/month. I have state farm insurance.
Yea I am not sure if they know, but I had to make sure an SR-22 was on file each year. I have been driving for 7 years and I only have that on my record which I felt was unjustified.
When they dropped my case, DMV kept my suspension.
Here's my coverages.
Bodily Injury Liability ,000 (each person)/0,000(each accident)
Property Damage Liability ,000 (each accident)
Uninsured motor vehicle ,000 (each person)/0,000(each accident)
Property Damage
Total Premium For Vehicle 1 1.99
Oops, wasn't thinking..... 10/2004 OCTOBER/2008... do the math. I said 4 years ago.
Oh, and depending on the coverage….300 every 6 months for underage drink offense is amazingly cheap! You probably have very low coverage and are with non standard company, or they don’t know about your driving record. Either way, if all you care about is price you have nothing to worry about.
call your insurance agency and ask for a lower rate, if they dont give you one, ask why, and negotiate from there
Defensive Driving class will lower your rate
Nothing….you will have this on the insurance until it goes off….
umm nothing….
sucks for u…
u drank so yea….
u start with a low price and if u mess up it goes up…
it might go down if u don get in accidents and dont get caught or anything for a long time im not to sure or u can change companies idk…but yes it will be up for a while
btw im only like 14 and jus started drivers ed so
why take advice from me?
Depending on your insurance company, most will work with you. If you are under an actual agent and not some online company, go and talk to them. I always go and write my checks and turn in my paper PERSONALLY every six months. If you have an agent, go and TALK to them about it. Explain the situation and see how you can advance from there. All I can tell you from there is to just keep safe. You might also take a defensive driving course. This always helps in lowering your insurance payments.
$300 is not really that bad, though. Ive been driving for four years, without any convictions, citations, tickets, or moving violations, and Im paying $389 every six months, which I think is very reasonable being under state farm. You never know, they might not even know about your "felony"
You need to lay off the sauce, 10/2008 is like 5 months from now; not 4 years ago! Go sleep it off and try again when you are clear headed, like 4 years ago back in October of 2008!
Do you mean $300 per month or for six months total?
If you were not convicted then you should not be charged. But if it was suspended at any point, this does affect your rate and only updated your motor vehicle report or waiting it out will change that.
As far as lowering your rate, usually the only way to do that is to change your coverage limits and that’s something you want to think long and hard about. But mae sure you have the coverage you need.
