I am moving to another state. Do I still need SR-22 insurance when I go to get new license in new state?
Yes. You must maintain an SR-22 meeting Alabama’s insurance requirements in your new state until Alabama says you no longer need a SR-22. Failure to maintain the SR-22 will cause Alabama to suspend your license, which will cause your new state to suspend your license until you file a new SR-22 with Alabama.
"Requirement:
If you currently carry an SR-22 in one state but move to another state, you must fulfill the SR-22 filing period for your former state, even though you no longer reside there. Also, your insurance policy for your new state must have liability limits which meet the minimums required by law in your former (SR-22) state."
Excellent question. I’ve never run into it before – and have absolutely no idea, but would really appreciate it if you email me when you get to the new state, and let me know.
Probably. The DUI will be on your record when you change States. This will also be available to all insurance companies.
yeah , need to carry for 3 yrs
Yes. You will still need it in your new state. This can get complicated depending on what state your going to or coming from.
Call your insurance agent and tell them you need the SR-22 in the new state.
Had someone that moved from GA to CA and needed an SR-22 in GA before CA would allow them to get their license in CA.
If you have problems with the SR-22 with your insurance agent ask about the Assigned Risk Plan. Call them for help. A link is below.
To Be honest,It will take a little time to find the answer for the question of yours.have a look at the resource here http://www.insuranceidea.info/free-insurance.htm for your reference .
