Depends on your insurance carrier and State that you reside in.

In most states, a single dui doesn’t cause much of an increase at all unless you need an SR22 or filing with the State.

In most states, depending on carrier, your first dui is a 1pt violation (insurance points, NOT DMV pts.) A traffic Device/sign violation is 2pts (insurance pts) which actually costs you more than your first DUI.

If you live in GA or NC : it will cost you a ton! Those states ins carriers usually carry a 12pt surcharge, which is huge.
    hope this helps.

The chances are if you are convicted of DUI, you will need high risk insurance through the pool, which is extremely high, and you will also be required to do a SR-22 filing with the state for the next 36 months. After that 3 years you can go back to a normal policy, assuming you don’t get another conviction.

Also, in some jurisdictions you may wind up with a suspended license for some time period.

I seldom suggest an attorney, but in the case of a DUI it is recommended.

You can compare how the insurance quotes would change, for example here – autoinsurance.maclenet.com
