I live in New Jersey and was arrested in Minnesota on the DUI changes. For my court date I flew to Minnesota and finished up with my court , paid fines, etc. My lawyer said no more criminal charges. But, what are the effects of this DUI on my NJ lic? I mean I know that insurance will go up. But, will NJ DMV suspend my lic and charge me the state fee too (3000 over 3 years)

Your penalty will be exactly what it would have been if you were convicted in New Jersey, other than the fines which were paid to Minnesota. If New Jersey assess a higher fine than Minnesota you pay the difference; of course you don’t get a refund if they are less. The points you receive will be the points New Jersey gives for that conviction and the term of your suspension if there is one is also what you would have received if convicted in New Jersey.
If this was not your first conviction for DWI you will be subject to New Jersey penalties for repeat offenders. Although Minnesota did not file criminal charges I think you might be subject to the jail time New Jersey gives repeat offenders. You should consult with a lawyer about that.
