There are several ways that you can consider.Call your local agent or do the online quote yourself.Take which way,it depends on your time and knowledge.

I’m not American, but I would suggest you try the old fashioned way of saving up until you have all the money. In the meantime, get used to using public transport.

    DUI?

Do everyone a favor and take transit till you make the concious decision to smarten up.

Give yourself a three year time-out. It’ll give you time to save up and put more distance between you and your DUI.

The insurance will be high where ever you get it. Try a "Risk" insurance company. There are many of them.

Step away from the computer, pick up a telephone and start calling local insurance agencies to see which ones will deal with you at all, and then get quotes from them.

Right. Several companies will give you insurance, but it’s GOING to be sky high, at 22, with "full coverage", and a DUI. If you’re looking to pay the same as a 30 year old with a clean driving record, it ain’t gonna happen.

You can try Progressive, Leader Infinity, Safe Auto, Windsor, to start with. They’ll all write coverage with DUI’s.

Expect the insurance to cost you more than the loan.

At any insurance agent that can sell insurance in New York. At age 22 with a DUI you will be in the highest level of risk, and the costs will be high, but you already know that. What help are you looking for? It’s the old concept of choice leading to consequence. You made a choice to drive while impaired, not the consequence is going to be high rates for insurance and perhaps even needing an SR22 filing.

And of course when you finance you need full coverage, with the lender named as loss payee, which drives it up even more.

If it is already expunged by the court, then it means you are free of charge therefore your insurance won’t get affected. SR-22 is required because you are on the watch list, in case further violation or more severe accident COULD happen to you only because of your previous DUI record. If the court decided that you are not such potential person, then you are ok, legally…
