I have not drove in 18 years for a DUI I got in 1990 no tickets. the Judge gave me a restricted permit I can drive from 7am to 8pm I work for myself and I go back in january after I Finish VASAP 10 week program but I don't have a car. this is my question do I have to have insurance I live in VA. to get a permit thank you.

   No. If you do not own a car you do not need to get insurance.

   I live in Virginia and I got a DUI 6 months ago.

   I have insurance and I do not have a car. It is part of the terms of my 120 day suspension.

   Just ask for a non-owner policy.
