I have two misdemeanors, a 2nd degree burglary conviction for breaking into a friend's garage, and a DUI for driving through a checkpoint while barely over the legal limit. I thought I was sober because I had waited a very long time since I had stopped drinking before getting in the car. ...

As long as their misdemeanors I think your ok. Felony’s no.
You’re not likely to find any company willing to let you sell their insurance. Even if you don’t have a felony – and you can’t get the license, with a felony – you won’t pass any of the backround checks needed for the appointment.
I doubt any one will contract with you for those convictions.
Call an attorney and see if it is possible to get any of those convictions sealed. And, contact the department of Insurance in your state and see if you can even get an insurance license.
