Why should you worry about driving and insurance while you are in jail?
Well I just got one 6 months ago, and my insurance has yet to rise, if it’s your first offense and you are going to eventually have it exponged (not sure on spelling), go through ARD courses and rehab as required by court so it won’t be on your record, your insurance may not even go up. Although on the other hand, a friend of mine had one and his insurance went up about 50-60$ a month. I’m sure it also depends on what kind of vehicle you drive, IE sports car, economy, suv etc etc.
There is no standard amount that it would go up, so it would depend on your insurance company and other factors really.
I don’t know about your state, but in CA you lose your license for one year, and then you have to have an sr 22 as proof of insurance. That costs extra and not all insurance companies provide one.
It doesn’t sound like you lost your license though. I can’t really say, maybe the insurance company wont find out about it until the policy is up for renewal (like the guy said above) but even then, I don’t know how much it would go up. It still depends on the company.
