The drunks are getting hammered pretty good. if your stopped for any reason and they smell alcohol,They test you, now if they’d do the same thing for cell phone users, like check if the phone was being used. These chatter boxes cause many accidents that are never caught.

I had a police officer tell me that nearly 70% of all traffic stops, here in Vegas, involve someone under the influence.

Other than stopping black people because they’re black, most traffic stops do involve someone who is impaired.

[ for your info, I've read countless judges, and police chiefs and police officers say they want black people off the streets, that's why I put that sentence in there ]

And, of course, money nearly always wins. It’s the difference between jail and a GOOD lawyer.

Can you imagine a city judge with a full docket wanting to listen to a lawyer talk about the ramifications of the inconsistencies of the breathalyzer machine in a simple DUI case? Or the constitutional violations of the arresting officer not reading the Miranda rights?

    No. Sad but true.

Imagine the judge sitting there in the normal course of business going: next case… state vs smith.. how do you plead… he agrees to 3 days community service…next case. And then the big lawyer shows up.

    That’s the reality of it.

It’s not going to be the penalty that makes a difference, but the system. When someone, who can afford a high powered lawyer still gets penalized then you’ll actually have changes.
