If they are caught drunk in public that potentially violates the probation and causes all kinds of troubles. And since drinking got them there, it would be best to not drink at all until probation ends

it depends on what state your in, I know this in Ca. you can have an alcohol clause in your probation. Hell you can’t even be in a facility thats sells alcohol as its main source of income, even if your drinking soda.

Unless a judge has ordered the offender not to drink, a DUI offender can legally drink.

Usually its considered a probation violation to consume alcohol while on probation. They can drink but they are bound to get caught at some point. If a person is arrested for drugs is it okay for them to do drugs on probation absolutely not .

Alcohol can be directly related to the crime, therefore, it will be included in the Court order.

i can tell you that in MT for felony DUI offenders, they have a one of a kind treatment program that is 6 months that works both on the addiction and criminal thinking attached to DUI’s.

    good luck on your paper

DUI sentences are unlike other offenses against the law. It is not like racketeering charges or prostitution nor drug distribution.

You can drink to your heart’s content after a DUI. The only thing you must not do is drive while so intoxicated.

The only caveat to this is of course, if you have been deemed to have an alcohol problem and are under a treatment program. Then, and only then would you be monitored as to your actual intake. Normally this happens at the end of the treatment course.
