Can you go to jail for a first time offense DUI?

    Yes. Up to 6 months, but it is unusual.

    yes.u can depending on state . also…. do u even think about what could actually happen? it may not be your life u take if u get into a accident. 90% of the time its not your own u take its soemoen else’s .think!!!!! its easy it takes one damn cell phone call or 25 cents in a payphone to call for a cab ! and u not only could be saving your own life but someone else’s! and vehicalualr manslaughter is a crime that carried a 5 -10 year sentence in some sates higher! u really need to drink at home. if u gonna be a complete idiot and drink and drive u might as well be home! call your buddies over if u wanna get trashed and just amke them all stay there for night so they can sober up. be the voice of reason… again… it may not be your own life u take.. it coudl someone elses .drinking and driving even buzz driving is still a bad thing to do.not when its so easy to avoid, cab ,designated drivers make friends with non drinkers such as peopel who don’t like alcohol or buddies who throw bashes where they make everyoen stay till sober. and did u know … more peopekl die do to drunk driving than by smoking? than died in the warss in middle east a year?think.use that brain that was given to u. stop wasting it by killign off brains cells by obliterating the intelligence u may have had. no offfense BUT U ARE ACTING LIKE A IDIOT. i have a friend who crahsed into a little girl due to drinking…. she’sparalized for life. and he wishes nothing but to turn back time.grow up and think b4 u do someone seriously stupid.. o and in some states.. the fines are heavy.. 5 k… or more. AGAIN GROW UP! o and drinkers who do stupid stuff is not attractive so if u wnat a chick u might want to be smart plus.. being a dd makes u lots of friends

    Well you prolly just get a fine and like 2 years unsupervised probation. And I can guarantee you that if you have a lawyer, you wont do any time. hope this makes you feel better! :)

    Click on DUI info. for adults or teenage drinking and driving. The option is there.

    It is possible but unlikely with a good lawyer. For a first DUI under the age of 21.

    First DUI – Drunk Driving Conviction – Misdemeanor
    The penalty for a first underage DUI – drunk driving conviction in Illinois:

    up to $2,500 fine
    up to 1 year in jail
    minimum 2 years drivers license suspension
    SR22 insurance requirement
