I am all for it just because I am completely against drinking and driving. There are too many out there that are more than willing to come pick up a friend/family memeber if they need to.

I know my friends/family can call me any time and I will gladly get my sleepy butt up and drive to get them if it will mean saving someone’s life.

Drinking and driving isn’t worth it! It affects more than just the driver…it affects anyone that is in contact with them. Take for example a guy who lives locally to me. He had 2 kids, a wife a job…he went out for his birthday…drank all day long…had someone drive him home just to get in a car…drive to a bar and drink some more and attempt to drive himself back to his house once again. Needless to say he didn’t make it. 28 years old and his 4 year old son keeps telling mommy if she would just stop crying about daddy going to Heaven then he will take daddy’s place and do all the chores!!! That isn’t right!!!!!!! In fact as soon as I’m done typing this I have to go to his calling hours. It’s senseless!!!!!A Drunk driver doesn’t think about anyone else BUT themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!Otherwise they would never take the risk!!!!

.5 and you think the person should be driving??? I hope you mean .05 but even that…it isn’t worth the risk!!!! Ohio is .08 you are legally drunk.

Never heard of the asap program, but the punishment should fit the crime. Ever since MADD has campaigned for tougher DUI/DWI laws, no offender has had a fitting punishment.

I got a DUI and went to jail paid 300 dollars cash got my license back and went home in time to watch the Super Bowl last year.

The Police split the money and had a BBQ I don;t give a rats butt.
I was never fomally charged for it.

    Hows your Police Station???

My coworker was stuck and killed one week before Christmas. The driver that hit him was drunk and had his license revoked. His criminal record showed he had a history of license suspension and drunk driving violations. However, he was allow to remain a free citizen and allow to kill. It has been proven time and time again that drunk drivers kill. No leniency should be given. My coworker was not given a second chance.

Well it may be too much to pay but if you or anyone else were to kill someone while driving the parents would have to pay for the rest of their lives for you killing their child. Not saying you were drunk but the laws are that strict for a reason. You live and learn. If it was only $100 for it people would continue to do it as it’d be easier to get away with it. Maybe once people pay that much they’ll think twice about doing it again.
