I had a 2nd dui 9 yrs after my first offense. When I went thru all my programs and completed probation for my 1st DUI , the law required my dui to stay on my driving record for 7 yrs. I had a 2nd dui 9 yrs after my first offense. When I went thru all my programs and completed probation for my 1st DUI , the law required my dui to stay on my driving record for 7 yrs. I know the new 10 yr law took in effect a couple of years ago. Was this law retro-active? I was under the impression that the new law was in effect for any convicted dui's AFTER the law was passed. Please advise. Thanks.

I would take this up with a qualified attorney in your particular stare. Looks like you did not learn a lesson.
