    DUI #1:
    0 to 6 month sentence
    $300 to $5000 fine
2 to 12 month license suspension
Must undertake Alcohol Highway Safety School
0 to 150 hours community service

    DUI #2:
5 days to 6 months sentence
    $300 to (unlimited) fine
    18 month license suspension
Must undertake Alcohol Highway Safety School
0 to 150 hours community service

    DUI #3 or higher:
    Same as DUI 2.

DUI (in Pennsylvania) are only part of driving record for 7 years; therefore, if the second occurs more than 7 years from previous offense, it is treated as a first offense.

If the bust occurred while he was driving as an occupation (i.e. a taxi driver, truck driver, bus driver, etc), the same penalties are incurred from the court side of things. The company may choose to impose further penalties, up to and including loss-of-job.

I am not an attorney and would hate to give you the wrong advice…think you should contact an attorney or legal aid office in your area for reliable info.

I’m assuming he had another DUI 25 years ago. It just means he probably didn’t learn his lesson last time. Better get a lawyer. He will most likely lose his license for a little while and have to take a few classes for it.

Tell him to wear clean underwear so his cell mate doesnt gross out.
Pennsylvania hates two time DUI offenders almost as much as I do.
