Does a DUI need to be mentioned if it is over 8 years old?

My brother in law and I were having a discussion regarding DUI. I said on all resumes that ask, you have to mention if you have ever had a DUI no matter how long ago. He says that you do not once it is off your record. Does it come off your record? After how long? Do you have to state it on your resume? Please let me know who is right?

Yes, mention it if the subject is addressed (previous convictions). It does not come off of your record. Don’t state it on your resume, that is tacky.

you simply need to answer the questions on a job application’

some will only ask for felonies (DUI usually isnt). Some only ask back a certain length of time

you NEVER have to put a criminal charge on a resume EVER

your resume is your sales brochure
