Can I get a restricted license after a dui and never having a license?

So I got a dui 4 years ago- didn't have my license then, but Im taking the required classes and badly need a car just to go where I HAVE to go. I can drive and know all the laws, is there a chance of the dmv giving e restricted license- given all paperwork is present and I pass any/all tests ...

You should have no problem getting a regular license. It’s very rare that a sentence would ever carry a 4 year term with it.

If you were convicted 4 years ago, that conviction carried a specified sentence with it. Once that was up, you’re a regular citizen. You should review that conviction and see what it carried.

Once you do that, you can go to the dmv and get your license. The only thing the prior DUI does is count towards your penalty on the next DUI. [hopefully you learned to just call a cab by now]

You shouldn’t have a problem getting one, but please don’t drink and drive again. I just lost a family member to a drunk driver a few months ago.
