Are Tea Partiers against DUI laws, laws against texting while driving, and smoking in bars / restaurants?
Wouldn't these laws hurt individual freedom? And don't they force government's big laws down your throat to prevent you from doing what you want to do? Aren't we a "me" society based on individual freedom - rather than a "we" society based on the common good for each other? ...

Why do we have to look out for each other (common good - general welfare) rather than just be able to do whatever we please without the government forcing these silly laws down our throat?
Those are State issues…Tea partier’s believe in less regulation of the FEDERAL government. Did you know they are different?
Not a Tea Partier, but sh*t ya.
Tea party stands for NO GOVERNMENT
DO WHATEVER THE FUCK U WANT an kill anyone in ur path while obeying no laws in the process
I believe every law you listed should be handled by the state.
We need to push most power down to the people.
The guy above me couldn’t be more wrong.
Individual freedom doesn’t involve things that are going to jeapardize public safety. there’s a difference.
You lose.
If you are doing something that can harm someone else, then you are interfering with their personal freedom
Those issues should be left tot he states. How about pointing out some of the more relevant, and highly abused elements and issues that government has it’s fingers into?
Your first two protect individuals against the poor decisions of others. In the latter matter, you have a choice to go to a bar where people smoke or not.
What TEA partiers are really against are the regulations that attempt to " protect" you from yourself. Sealtbelt , helmet, and trans fat bans are wholly intrusive, and taxpayer funds should not be spent on them. You take care of you , and I’ll take care of me.
DUI laws are because it is extremely dangerous and because you agree to abide by the driving code if you want to drive on a publicly owned street are appropriate as I think most people would agree. Texting would fall into a similar danger risk. Seat belts laws no, because it is not hazardous to others. same with helmet laws for those over the age of 18. Smoking indoors yes it effects others rights within public establishments. smoking outdoors should not be prohibited because other can avoid those who are smoking.
Laws should protect peoples rights and be balanced against others rights. society seems to be going a little to far when they try to protect people from their own behavior.
Looking out for each other should not include taking freedom, justice or the pursuit of happiness away from any individual.
