My bf recently got a dwi it’s his first offense and he is also in the military. He was also charged for possession of drugs, he currently lives in texas but will be stationed in another city in texas. The military is VERY clear about their requirements. There’s a CHANCE he could remain in the service with just a DWI – but the drug charge is clear – he’s going to be working at Wal*Mart soon.
If he gets a lawyer, there is a chance the DWI charge could be worked down to a lesser charge, and the drug charge may be able to be taken care of via a ticket – but the military won’t care.
He should have thought of that before he set himself up to drink and drive… or to be in possession of drugs. He’ll have the rest of his life to reflect on his mistakes – and his short stint in the military.

Don’t worry, I have never been arrested or have a record, I’m just curious because I’ve heard both these acronyms used.
