Can I Represent Myself In a DUI Case in Orange County?

If you are arrested for a DUI in Orange County, it is possible that you can represent yourself in court. However, it is highly advisable that you hire an Orange County DUI lawyer if you are not familiar with DUI laws and procedures in the state of California.
Many people don't want to hire a DUI defense lawyer because they think it will cost too much. However, it can actually end up costing you more if you don't hire a lawyer. Your license could be suspended or revoked, you could pay outrageously high fines, and spend more time in jail.
If this is your first DUI arrest and there were no additional or aggravating circumstances such as reckless driving, DUI with a minor in the car with you, or extremely high blood alcohol content (BAC), you may able to get by without a DUI defense lawyer. However, if you are a repeat offender, it may be beneficial to hire an Orange County DUI defense lawyer. There are several reasons why you would want to hire a lawyer who specializes in DUI cases:
- A DUI lawyer can analyze your case to check if there are any flaws or inconsistencies.
- A lawyer can have blood samples independently analyzed.
- A lawyer can schedule your DMV hearing and make sure all paperwork is filled out correctly.
- If expert witnesses are needed, a lawyer can arrange for these witnesses to appear in court.
- A lawyer may have information that you have not considered because of your limited experience with the laws in your state.
Regardless if you do or do not hire a DUI lawyer, it's still good to be educated about California DUI laws and procedures. However, do seriously consider hiring a lawyer. Keep in mind that when you are arrested for drunk driving, your future driving privileges and criminal record are in jeopardy.
Best advice is to ask a local attorney who does DUI defense only! Most will NOT charge for a first visit.

top dui lawyer orange county?
who is the best DUI attorney/lawyer in orange county CA?
I’ve interviewed many attorneys over the phone and three in person, who do I hire. Pleas tell me who you or a friend has used and what their result was. All the attorneys claim to be the best, who IS the best?
C, Seek advice from a professional, they should know the ins and out of Minnesota law by heart. http://www.findaduilawyeronline.com
Sorry man but he is SOL, been there done that but I had the cash to fight the charge and had it reduced.
The problem is that he blew and thats all that matters, never ever blow or do a field sobriety test. Take on a public defender for free accept the plee deal. Ask for community service and probation time instead of fines or even ask if he can serve a week in county and that will keep him from having to do probation, CSR and possibly the fines, seeing that he is not working.
Problem with Cali is they are hardasses on DUIs and hes looking at more than 10K in court costs and other fees just to keep his license.
In texas where I am we have to pay 2K each year for 3 years in order to keep our license after a second offense. I think cali is much higher.
He will prolly be looking at an ignition interlock as well which will run about $75 – $100 per month.
Tell him to get to AA immediatly even if he does not plan to stick with it. Have the person at AA sign a card that proves that he was there, tell him to get a sponser, and do 90 meetings in 90 days. Get all the court classes completed before his next court date. If the DA sees that he is trying to better himself then there is a small possiblity that he will go slightly easier on him, but if your boy sits and does nothing then the DA will pound him as hard as he can.
Good luck
DUI Court in Orange County, Orlando, FL?
My boyfriend screwed up and got a DUI. We’re trying to decide if we need a lawyer. We’ve met with a few and been told that when he goes to court to plead guilty/not guilty they’ll offer him something (such as minimum punishment & fines – not saying they will, but there’s a chance). Question Being: when he goes in to court will it be like he gets the chance to hear the punishment & then say he has a lawyer? Or does he not get that chance to see what the punishment would be before he decides to plea guilty/not guilty one way or the other?
I would really appreciate some help!
I got a DUI a day ago in Orange County should I get a lawyer?
I really don’t recall the reason for the cops pulling me over, but i have 10 days to make an administrative per se hearing with the DMV. Should i get a lawyer? I still don’t know what my BAC was they did a blood test on me. I went to the police station today and asked for a copy of my arrest record and they said I couldn’t get a copy until after my official court date. What should i do?
yes they gave me a ticket and it says my court date is until 7/15. I really don’t have the money for an attorney
Second DUI charge in 5 years with a BAC of .14 in Orange County, CA.?
A friend of mine just had this happen on the Newport Beach peninsula. Never intelligent thing to drink and drive – I do not advocate – I’m only seeking advice from others whom had to deal with this experience. I’m concerned with the court proceedings – family is out of work and has no finances to get a lawyer. Thank You in advance.
