DUI Classes are different from state to state. In California, a first time offense DUI means that you must complete a 9 month class. You have to be enrolled in this program in order to get a restricted driver's license. Either way, it is a mandatory class that the court orders you to enroll in. For the most part, you will sit in a room full of people who where also charged with DUIs. The counselor will go over the negative aspects of alcohol and drugs. In California the dui classes are around 2 hours once a day each week. If all programs are the same, then it alternates from one two hour group meeting the first week, and a 15 minute face to face meeting the second week, and so on. You also get to watch movies that are related to drugs, alcohol, and drinking and driving.
The cost for DUI classes is about ,400 for a second offense dui, and slightly lower for a for a first offense. You are able to make these in payments as you go along in the program. Because you are forced to enroll, you don't really have much choice in avoiding this fee. The business that runs the DUI Classes will be the ones collecting the money from you.
The DUI classes can be somewhat strict. If you are late to your class, you will not be able to enter, you should just turn around and go back home. One place will charge you each time you miss a class, and you still have to make the class up at the end of your program. If you miss three classes in a row, you will be terminated from the program and lose all the money you paid them. You are allowed to miss a certain number of classes before you are terminated. It is around 10 total classes. If you miss more than the number of days, you will be terminated and also lose all the money you paid the place.
The classes can be tedious, but they are rather easy. They take up your time, and can be inconvenient, especially if you have no license or transportation. Hope you got something out of this information on DUI Classes.
Depending on the state most of these programs are set up not by the specific time frame but by the number of sessions the person must attend. It may be possible to go to additional sessions in a more compact time frame. Ask your instructor, attorney or judge to see if this is allowed in your area.

Raise the drinking age to 25.
2nd DUI = minimum of 5 years in jail.
3rd DUI = 20 years
With the push to lower the drinking age in America, does Big Brother want more money through DUI programs?

Its my first offense in any police record….. Im not worried about license suspension. I just need to leave the country to see my kids for a couple of months. I already have a plane ticket for august and i got caught for dui yesterday. Im trying to shorten any programs and court day. Can anyone please give me an advise?
Will a class A misdemeanor (DUI) disqualify me from military officer programs?
I got a DUI when I was 18. I then enlisted and served 4 years. I am out of college now and am looking at getting into any military branches officer programs. Any advice or knowledge on the subject of whether I am automatically disqualified? Thanks in advance.
Pretty much impossible. DUI programs usually require movies to watch, group meetings, one on one counseling, etc. Just deal with it and don’t get another (much worse).
