Can I start DUI classes before my court date?
Is it possible to start DUI classes before a court hearing?
OMG, people, DON’T answer questions you don’t know the answer to. Sorry, I just hate seeing people give bad advice.
YES, you can take the DUI classes before you court hearing. Actually, the judge can favor it when you have the classes done already. It shows the court that you understand the seriousness of your offense and that you are willing/ready to do what the court recommends. It also shows that you accept the responsibility of the offense.
Ask your attorney, in a lot of cases, attorneys will suggest taking the classes before the court date to prove to the court that you are trying to make positive changes to your life and do what’s right.
Good Luck
Your DUI classes were a condition of your probation so by not attending you are in contempt of court. Before you get off probation, you must complete ALL te conditions of your probation. Failure to do so will enable the judge to impose the original sentence you received for the DUI. Contact your PO or call the court clerk to get info about the classes.
What if I never went to DUI classes in California?
I got a DUI (my only one) about two years ago, but I never took the DUI classes. I did the community service, and I am currently almost done with the fine. What do I need to do if I want to start taking the classes? Will I be in any trouble? Do I have to go back to court? I just found the paper work in a box after I have moved twice, so I have no idea how to go about this. Thanks!
Can i get my license back after finishing DUI classes?
I got arrested for a DUI when i was 20 years old. My drivers license had been suspended till Nov 4, 2010. I just finished ALL of my DUI classes and I’m on track with all my payments, you think i could get my drivers license back when its only June 29?
autoinsurance.noneto.com – check these plans. As I know their rates for bad driving record is not such expensive as from other companies.
Can you get your California Driver License back without completing the DUI Classes?
I got a DUI over 10 years ago and have not had a license since. Can you get your license back without completing the DUI class and receiving a Notice of Completion Certificate after so many years?
The consequences of violating any portion of his sentence could be a resentence up to the maximum that the law allows. Or the judge might, with proof of his good behavior in the intervening time, consider releasing him to that he can pay and attend the DUI classes. It depends a lot on the old file notes, on your ex’s demeanor in court and on the judge. It’s been 6 years, so, unless he’s been in a coma that whole time, any excuse will be lame.
He may also have new charges if he didn’t attend the classes and, therefore, did not get his license reinstated. You don’t say which state, so this is a guess.
I would strongly suggest coming up with the fine money and bringing it to court on his appearance date. If he has new charges, bring some bail money for that. He should be prepared to apologize profusely, be extremely remorseful, not give lame excuses and be ready to get moving on whatever the judge wants him to do. He might do a little better if he has an attorney there, because that will limit the amount of talking he has to do. If the attorney does most of the talking, it’s likely to go better.
WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT PAYING THE FINE AND ATTENDING DUI CLASSES IF YOU ARE ALREADY CONVICTED?
My ex husband got pulled over two nights ago. According to the officers he had a warrant for not paying or completing DUI classes back in 2004. THis was his first DUI. I would like to know if he will be locked up for a long time or he will be released soon. Thank you for your answers.
No. The penalty is for a full year. It’s part of your sentence.
