  2. Ashley M says:

What’s the point of a DUI check if newspapers advertise where they will be located in the future?
Doesn’t that defeat the entire purpose of trying to catch intoxicated people when you let them know what areas to avoid?

I’m not a Liberal, but when in doubt, follow the constitution, in this case, the 4th and 5th Amendments.

I’ll check back in a while, I’d like to see the answers.

(The Huffington Post is probably Tweeting up a storm right now! LOL)

Not here, but your community’s laws might differ.

Checkpoints are a totalitarian abomination, and are a total violation of the US Constitution. The Supreme Court had to literally “tie the law in a pretzel” (to quote the dissent) in order to find a way to pretend that they were not a violation of the 4th amendment.

One of the ways they did so was to require that drivers be given ‘general notice’ of planned checkpoints so that the argujment could be made that by driving in an area where the police have said they’ll run checkpoints, a driver can be asserted to have “consented” to the stop.

One of the primary differences between a free country and a totalitarian one is that in a free country a citizen peacably going about his business doesn’t have to worry about suddenly being stopped and shaken down by the cops “just in case” he “might” have broken a law.

does the police department legily have to inform the comunity of a dui check point?
when a police department has D.U.I check points scheduled do they have to inform the public of where exacty they will be?

  7. R P says:

where are dui check points posted in the newspaper specifically in Kansas City Metro?
What section of the paper are the DUI checkpoint locations posted in the newspaper?
They do post them in the paper I have seem them before. I do not remember where in the paper I found it! AND I do not drink! I am curious as to where the info is available….not that you have the right to judge me.

  8. Malignant Narcissist says:

What is the liberal opinion of DUI check points?
The reason that I asked what the liberal opinion is of DUI check points is because you guys share one opinion on everything. I don’t know if you have a group think message board or not, but you all seem to be the same (unexciting and unoriginal quite frankly) person.

What is the liberal opinion of DUI check points?
NO ONE CONDONES DRUNK DRIVING! Gosh, you people are like little rats that infest our sewers. I am asking about DUI CHECK POINTS!

  9. Lori says:

What do you think of CA illegals accusing police of racism for impounding their cars at DUI check points?
CA: Two illegal’s groups are angry that over half of cars impounded at DUI check points belong to illegals with no insurance, because they are poor and cannot afford insurance. What about us poor Americans who can’t afford insurance because we are out of jobs due to illegals taking them.
Marko Polio, really bright aren’t you, just answer the question asked, in other words stick to the point.
Wizard, you are calling police fascists here?

  10. BlueSea says:

They aren’t posted in the paper, duh! Why are you drinking and driving anyway? Do you really feel like killing someone’s mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, etc…etc….
Oh, I know, you’ll be sorry afterwards!

    ADDITIONAL
What you read in the paper was probably right before a big holiday weekend, such as Memorial Day. The paper or news will interview the State Patrol (or others) and they will flat out say where they’ll be, for one thing they’ll be busing people left and right and be stretched very thin so it’s like “Hey dummies, this is where we’ll be if you want to take a chance”. HOWEVER, on any given weekend they are not going to be announcing it. The majority of the time, it is not announced.
