Driving drunk can have a serious, long-lasting effect on all those involved. Most people who drink and drive do not think about the consequences until it is too late. The most frequent crime committed in this country is drunk driving. Someone in the United States is injured every two minutes or killed every thirty minutes by a drunk driver.
Three out of every ten Americans will be involved in a drunk driving accident sometime in their lives. Over 18,000 people die in alcohol-related motor vehicle accidents each year. Over 40% of motor vehicle accident fatalities are alcohol-related and over twenty-five per cent of all teenage related motor vehicle accident fatalities involve alcohol. The aftermath of a drunk driving accident is long-lasting and costly. The legal costs can include jail time, fines, driver license suspension and other criminal penalties for the drunk driver and severe injuries and even death for the innocent victims.

im related to drunk driving because my mom gave birth to me while doing so. but she wasnt driving on any road, she was tearing up the salt flats in her 68 SS el camino and pounding a md 20/20. my dog rocko delivered me and licked me clean.

How come you never really hear about drunk driving accidents in which the drunk driver dies and the victims?

I’m guessing one reason is because that wouldn’t incite people nearly as much as hearing about the innocent dying. Media reports what sells.

Hi everyone,
I am putting together a music video for a local band and I am looking for people to contribute photographs of loved ones they have lost due to drunk or reckless driving.
The song is about the dangers of poor decisions and the outcome many face when they choose to get behind the wheel of a car while drunk or distracted.
The photos will be used for a tribute / memorial purpose to those lost and will flash on the screen in 5 second intervals. Credit will be given either in the end credits or on the information page accompanying the video.
I am looking for contributors to help get this message across (there will be no compensation).
