With accidents being so prevalent among young drivers in the UK, finding motor insurance at all can sometimes be difficult. Finding cheap premiums looks pretty much impossible, but do not be discouraged by one or two quotes because the costs vary hugely. Some companies are just not interested in taking the risk so their premiums are so ridiculous that no-one would take them up on it. Several of the major insurance companies will no longer insure drivers 17 years of age but there are many who actually specialize in this field. When it comes to finding insurance, young drivers will have to search the internet and compare lots of companies, but there are other things you can do as well.
Insurance For Young Drivers - Taking advantage Of The Internet
The internet is full of motor insurance companies that may be willing to provide insurance cover for new and young drivers. In some cases you can get a ten percent discount for buying any cover online, because this helps to keep down the overheads of the insurer. You can also find companies that will compare quotes from several different insurance companies making it easier to locate the cheapest offer.
How To Improve The Odds of Finding Cheap Insurance
It usually appears that cheap insurance and young drivers really do not belong in the same sentence. However, there are some things you can do to make your premiums cost less. For a start, you can take a driving course such as the Pass Plus programme. This course will teach you how to drive under different driving conditions. It covers night driving, town driving, motorway driving, all weather driving and a few more driving situations. Insurance companies regard the Pass Plus programme as a sign that you are more experienced and better trained, and therefore less of a risk. For this reason many insurance companies will offer you discounts of 20 to 30 percent of your premiums.
Limit the amount of hours you drive. There are several insurance companies for young people that will give breaks for low mileage on your vehicle. Avoid the temptation to make modifications to your vehicle. Insurance companies hate dealing with modified vehicles because modifications make the car more appealing to thieves. They are also more expensive to repair. The result is extra cost on your premiums.
The single most significant thing you can do to keep costs down is to avoid powerful new cars and instead buy a small, second hand, inexpensive vehicle. Small cars cost less, travel at lower speeds and so are less likely to be involved in accidents and do less damage if they are in a collision. They are much cheaper to replace or get repaired also. Another factor connected with your choice of vehicle is the insurance group that your car belongs to. Insurance premiums will relate directly to the insurance group your car is in, so go for a car that is in one of the lower groups.
Follow these basic tips and shop around online, and you should be able to significantly reduce the cost of young drivers insurance.
Why do supporters of illegals condone illegals drinking and driving some even take lives why do they?
Why do supporters of illegals condone illegals drinking and driving some even take lives why do they condone of these illegals driving drunk ? Is it just part of Mexico’s culture to drink and drive as a normal pattern of life there ? I just do not understand why they condone drunk driving by illegals and defend their right to drive drunk ?
They condone it because none of their loved ones have become victims yet. They will quickly change their tunes when someone they love is run down by a drunk driving illegal.
Shock tactics like in this story are used all the time by most anti drunk driving groups. It works with some people, but many turn their heads to avoid the burned faces and bloody steering wheels thereby missing the big message altogether.
Last week I went to a ‘Night Out for Crime Prevention’ event in the little town next to ours. The local police and fire department were demonstrating equipment and vehicles, and MADD was there.
But MADD pretty much phoned it in! They parked a sealed Plexiglas trailer containing a wrecked car on the street and left. The trailer also had pictures of two local victims from a similar crash taped on each side. Some people stopped to look at it, but most passed right by it to get to the live presentations going on all around.
BAM! Scary message! No solution offered! No one to even talk to. I see this approach often. For those it works on, it is perfect.
But as many different approaches as possible are needed to combat the problem of drunk driving. Shock, Legislation, and even Education!
Most anti drunk driving campaigns seem to leave education out of it, though. For a real DUI Avoidance Lesson Plan aimed at drivers who drink, check out the source below …
How would you discourage people from drinking and driving?
A Chinese man has preserved his severed leg in formaldehyde for 20 years to warn people against the dangers of drink driving.

“As people in my home town don’t seem to care about driving after drinking, I thought I’d take it back home with me to educate them.”
Every August, he takes the leg out of its sealed tank and invites friends and people he suspects of drink driving to come and see it.
Never heard of it. But if any city was to adopt such a stupid plan it would be SF
Is SF expected to allow illegals caught drinking & driving new policy of allowing unlicensed drivers 20 minute?
Is SF expected to allow illegals caught drinking & driving new policy of allowing unlicensed drivers 20 minutes to call someone with a valid license to come get them and this may keep the city out of legal trouble ?
How do I report a bar that is serving underage kids with fake IDs and an adult who is driving while drinking
Mother & daughter are drinking & driving together. IMother is aware of daughters fake ID. Local bars(3 at least )are serving them on a regular basis.
The drinking age and the driving age should both be 18. And you should lose your license for life if you’re convicted of drunk driving. It’s an effective law in the places where it’s used.
What do you think of the drinking age and driving age???
I feel if they put the drinking age to 19 and the driving age at 18. When they go for there test they have to take drivers ed and sit through almost a whole day of drunk driving videos that make them never want to drink and drive. Also, with dwi people there should never be one chance. If u get caught once your in jail for at least 1 year maybe people will thinnk about not doing it a second time… Tell me what you think…
municipalities grant and revoke liquor licenses based on underage service. Call the city where the bar is and report the underage service to the licensing department, they will investigate and if they find there are minors being served, they will cite the establishment and fine them, if the problem isn’t addressed, they risk losing their license to serve alcohol.
As far as the DWI mother, she would have to be caught in the act by a law enforcement officer and found to be over the limit before any consequences could be imposed.
If she is allowing an underage child to drink, she may also be risking the county child welfare workers getting involved to protect the minor child from a negligent mother.
