There are two sides to any court case, and employment law is no exception. If you're an Illinois resident, you'll want to consult with Chicago employment lawyers who have a track record of successfully representing individuals who have sued their employers for any number of transgressions tied to employment law.

If you're looking for an experienced attorney to represent you in an employment matter, doing a Chicago attorney search is the first step, but not the only one. In fact, it can be critical to your chances of success to make sure you retain an attorney who represents individuals rather than the big businesses or government agencies. A good employment lawyer is one who will work for your rights and protect you in the courtroom while going after the maximum compensation allowed by law.

Chicago Attorney Searches: Employment Law Includes Several Specialties

If you've been terminated from employment, harassed, or intimidated on the job, you probably already know that you need a Chicago employment lawyer, but you may not realize just how many employer/employee situations fall under the jurisdiction of employment law. There are many situations that fall under this legal specialty, including some cases that might surprise you. Determining which aspect of employment law fits your situation can help you narrow down your attorney search even further so that you find the ideal lawyer for your case.

Wrongful Termination - Illinois Workers Are Backed By Chicago Employment Lawyers

The upheaval and distress caused by wrongful termination can affect every aspect of your life. The obvious problem of losing your income is just one facet of the situation. You may also feel you've lost a part of what it is, to be you. Your career is often part of your identity, and being terminated unjustly can lead to depression, anger, and an inability to find new work. If you've been terminated, you may even have trouble finding a new position because of the stigma of being fired, downsized, or let go.

Attorneys specializing in wrongful termination in Illinois can represent you in a suit against your former employer and advise you on how to proceed with the next steps in your life. They will work closely with you to ensure that you're fairly compensated or reinstated at your former job if that is the best solution for your situation.

Workplace Discrimination

Workplace discrimination is a hot button issue that can immediately raise blood pressures. If you feel you've been discriminated against in the workplace, it's essential that you contact a Chicago employment lawyer who is experienced in all aspects of employer discrimination, regardless of whether the discrimination is based on age, gender, race, disability, or any other inappropriate standards of employment.

Discrimination is always devastating. It has a profound impact not only on how others perceive you, but how you perceive yourself. In addition to missing out on promotions or missing the next step up on the career ladder, individuals who suffer workplace discrimination may discover that they no longer trust the motives of others.

If you are the victim of workplace discrimination, it's crucial that you talk to a Chicago employment lawyer who will take your case and work tirelessly to prove discrimination. When you do an online Chicago attorney search, look for phrases such as gender discrimination, age discrimination and sexual discrimination as well as workplace discrimination.

Other Employment Issues

Chicago employment lawyers can also represent individuals who have suffered sexual harassment on the job, been denied employee benefits, or been denied fair compensation or severance. With so many different kinds of employment law affecting an individual's ability to safely and securing earn a living, it's imperative that anyone who has been treated unfairly in the workplace according to the law retain a Chicago employment lawyer who has successfully represented individuals in the past with good results. Be sure to ask any attorney you talk to about their track record - they should be able to give you examples of several cases they won either in the courtroom or through a just and fair settlement.

do i need a lawyer for my first DUI?
hi im 22 i have a real good driving record clean. i have a valid license. my question is do i need a lawyer for my first DUI?..
the cop that stopped me told that i would just have to go to traffic school and be under supervision for 3 years. But i just received a letter in the mail saying that i can go to jail for a year..
do you know what can happen or what i need to do please help by the way i live in chicago

Yep. You got a DUI and it is not just going to be his word against yours. Unfortunately for you, you handed him a great case on a silver platter.

Refusing to blow can and will be used as evidence against you. It was probably the worst thing you could have done. Every criminal lawyer I have ever spoken with gives the same advice: Blow, don’t answer any questions, and be polite.

Depending on Illinois law, your driver’s license might also be revoked for your failure to blow. (In Washington State, refusing to blow results in an automatic one year license suspension.)

Can a good lawyer get you out of this? Anything is possible, but you really did hurt yourself by refusing to blow. (If you had blown, your lawyer could have worked to get the results declared inadmissible. But there is no way to keep your refusal out.) If this is your first DUI arrest, you might be able to get a plea agreement.

Did I just get a DUI?
Help me. I just got pulled over in Chicago, Illinois and was consequently arrested for DUI even though I didn’t take a field sobriety test nor a breathalyzer test. What is next? Is it just my word versus his? Can a good lawyer get me out of this? I really wasn’t drunk, I just got pulled over as soon as I pulled out this bar parking lot at closing time (after the Chicago Bears lost). I think it is a bogus charge but I did have 5 or 6 drinks and did not want to blow. What is my standing? Thank You.

I got a DUI in indiana while visiting for a day. I live in Chicago. Do I need to get a lawyer from indiana?
I blew a .09 on the breathalizer, It’s my first time being arrested or anything. If I need to get a lawyer from indiana, will i have to drive over there to meet with him/her or can we do it all over the phone until my court date?

I’m only 21, I did not think I was impaired at all, I’ve never gotten into trouble like this before. I’m scared.

  5. crazyem says:

You need a lawyer who is licensed to practice in the state in which the charges are. Unless you can find a Chicago lawyer who also has a current Indiana license, you’ll probably have to find one in Indiana. They’ll probably want to meet you atleast once in person, but you can correspond from home.

  7. judles says:

You might just be lucky this time. There are cases that fall through the cracks of the system, so I would say don’t chase the charges and just let sleeping dogs lay. And yes drink driving is pretty stupid, why not give yourself and other road users a break before you kill someone.

  8. DrTyrone says:

No man. They wont help. Just run up your bills. DUI aint notthing anyways cept a ticket. Why spend $5000 on a $500 fine.
