Not likely for a first offense. A shitload of fines, Community service, Loss of license for a year, And you’ll have to complete alcohol classes.

Don’t worry, you won’t go to jail… you NEED to hire a lawyer, and there’s a very slim chance you can make the whole thing go away.

Supposing you can’t make it go away, and you are convicted, you’ll be ordered to pay fines, attend classes, perform community service, and report to a probation officer.

It isn’t a felony so you won’t have to list it on a job application (for most jobs). Even on jobs where they do a background check it is unlikely to matter since they are so common these days.

Arizona is a special case… if you get convicted there for jaywalking, you’ll be put in the tent city and gawd knows what else… in the other 49 you’ve got nothing to worry about.

Depends on the state, but in most cases, YES, you will get some jail time, even if it’s just a week.
In Arizona, first DUI is 10 days in Tent City, which is in the desert. Literally chain gang type of stuff, where you live in a tent in the desert (if it’s July) with 6-8 other inmates at 125 degrees, no A/C. If it’s in the winter months, it’s only 80-90 degrees. Also, any other effects depend on the state, such as fines, license suspensions, etc. In Arizona we have the toughest law in the nation, and the convict has to pay to get a blood alcohol tester implanted in their car (so they have to blow to start it) for 2 years. Costs several thousand dollars, in addition to 15K in fines and lawyer fees.

no but it will prolly cost u sum cash… im 23 also got a dwi which is worse i got a lawyer cost me $750 got 2 years unsupervised probation, satop class ($350), driver improvement class($40), and victim impact class ($50)… fines($600) sr22 and $45 reinstatement fee… lost license for 30days… this is in my area your area may be different, it cost me a pretty penny but im just glad i was able to pay for that mistake versus the cost of someones life

The answer to this question varies from state to state and from county to county. Some areas offer diversion programs so that you don’t have to go to jail, while others have mandatory sentencing for DUIs. You should contact a lawyer to see what your options are.
