    Yes, it is. Those who are convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol are not considered a protected class under fair employment discrimination rules.

    Does your potential job require you to drive?? You have to take in consideration what they are looking for. Clean driving record for a Driver????

    Sure it is legal. If you are driving, they have to take that into consideration. If you are not, then they are stupid, but not doing anything against the law.

    of course it’s legal. why wouldn’t it be? what part of the employment law are they breaking. drunk drivers are not a protected class, sorry…

    Yeah, employeers have the right to choose their employees and eliminate employees based on past criminal records. I think everyone deserves a second chance, I mean its 23 years ago. People grow up, people change I think as long as you’re up front with your employeer that this event did happen and has never happened again. Most employeers find honestly and personality are means for hiring. Good Luck

    Yes. The only "illegal" reasons for not hiring someone are the person’s race, gender, religious or ethnic background, etc. – or a disabled person, provided that their disability would not prevent them from doing the job. An employer has the right to hire or not hire whomever they choose, as long as it’s not based on one the aforementioned things.
